Obituary of Angelo C. Lo Sapio

Angelo C. Lo Sapio, 85, of Leisure Village East, Lakewood passed away at Shorrock Gardens Care Center, Brick Township. He will be remembered for his hard work, stubbornness, irascibility, and colorful sayings, but mostly for his love of family. For 17 years he owned and operated Old Mill Dairy Milk Delivery, Keyport and found time to be active in the Keyport Lions Club, manage a Babe Ruth Baseball team, and support and sponsor the Keyport Youth Athletic League, several bowling teams, and the Old Mill Dairy Softball Team. He was a semi-professional umpire and, although he loved sports, he did not tolerate any arguments from spectators and was known to eject many an angry fan. He is survived by his wife, Michelina “Dolly” Lo Sapio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mario and Susan Lo Sapio and Vincent and Jo Ann Lo Sapio, four daughters, Angela Brunelli, Lucille Lo Sapio and Gary Dates, Camille Lo Sapio and her finance Tony Caradori and Patrice Lo Sapio; two brothers, Salvatore and Pasquale Lo Sapio, Jr.; a sister, Mary Distasio; nine grandchildren, Tony and Louis Brunelli, Edward Hurster, Michael and Ryan Lo Sapio, Angela Rapoport, Michele and Joseph Picone, and Chris Masi; and a great grandson, Andre Rapoport. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Church, Keyport at 10:30 A.M. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
