I am sorry to learn of the death of Cary. I had not spoken with him in many many years. He was my technician when I got my PhD at UTMB-Galveston. He was a very kind and some what shy man. He had a wonderful sense of humor. We all worked hard in the lab of Dr Robert Klebe but we had fun. And sometimes drank a bit too much beer. He was a true Texan in every way. I’m certain all who knew him were enriched by this kind soul.

I am devastated tonight to learn of Cary's passing. We were close friends in junior high school and high school, but I had lost touch so long ago as our paths changed during college. We shared a love of science fiction writing and reading in general and I will forever be indebted to him for opening my eyes wide to all the possibilities of the world, and indeed, the universe. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

We were terribly saddened to learn of Carey’s passing. We knew him to be a kind, gentle, extraordinarily bright, articulate man, who will be missed by all he knew. There’s a hole in the world without Carey. His memory will remain in the many lives he touched personally as well as with the joy of the schnauzers from your family. Michelle, Rob & Keira Shea, along with Gus-Gus and his new little sister Maggie; and formerly Nipper, Mr. Jigs, Phidget and Phenni.
