Obituary of Vera T. Emmons

Vera T. Emmons, 99, of Freehold died Monday, April 30, 2007 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Emmons was born in Matawan and had resided in Freehold since 1934. Mrs. Emmons was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Freehold and an active member of St. Anne’s Guild of the church. She was the widow of Albert L. Emmons who died in 1990. Surviving are a son, Albert F. Emmons, Freehold; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and Charles Anderson, Dover, Delaware; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Savage and her husband Michael and Margaret Burd and her husband Kevin, all of Townsend, Delaware, Monica Tice and her husband, William, Midlothian, Virginia, Charles A. Anderson, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and Katherine and Mary Anderson, Dover, Delaware; and five great grandchildren, Joseph and Jason Savage, Hannah Burd and Madeline and Zachary Tice. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Burial Office and Holy Communion will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Freehold on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
