Obituary of Aaron S. Davis
Aaron S. Davis, 81, of Leisure Village, Manchester Township died Monday, April 30, 2007 at Manchester Manor Nursing Home after a courageous fight against cancer. During World War II he was a member of the Armed Guard which was followed by a colorful work career that included the ownership of several gas stations and a pet cemetery, driving trucks and school buses, and working for Rheingold Brewery, Orange. Born in Long Branch, he lived in several locations in Monmouth County, both before and after his marriage to Jeanette who predeceased him in 2004. They had two sons, the younger of whom predeceased them in 1997 at the age of 37. After moving to Manchester in 1990, he took pleasure in pursuing his life-long interest in flowers and he also enjoyed the camaraderie offered by the Bocce Club, Golf Club, and the Table Shuffleboard Club at Leisure Village. Surviving are his son, Gary, California; two nieces, Joan Besceglia and Betty Hopko and his loving companion, Ruth Hallock. Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The interment will be held at Holmdel Cemetery on Monday.
