Obituary of Edward James Kennedy
Edward James Kennedy, Jr., 59, of Beachwood died Friday, May 11, 2007 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was born in Staten Island, N.Y. and had lived in Freehold before moving to Beachwood in 1975. He served in the U. S. Army, 4th Battalion, 3rd Brigade, Old Guard during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1968 and received the Purple Heart Award. He was a sheet metal worker for Local No. 27, Sheet Metal Workers Union, Farmingdale. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Karen Kennedy, Beachwood; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Lance McEwan, Toms River; a brother, Raymond “Rusty” Kennedy; three sisters, Cathy A. Buchalski, Joan E. Fausak, and Phyllis C. Stanley; four grandchildren, Meghan, Matthew, Elijah, and Cameron; and his longtime companion, Debbie Beanland. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. followed by interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. Memorial donations to the Disabled American Veterans Memorial Program, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45245-0301 would be appreciated.
