Obituary of Dorothy May Hargreaves
Dorothy May Hargreaves, 85, of Jackson Township died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Saint Faiths, Great Britain on March 13, 1922 to the late John and Charlotte Bullock. Dorothy was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Herbert. She is survived by a sister, Gwen Marchant, Pontefract, Great Britain. Dorothy was married on May 28, 1945 to Thomas Hargreaves who was stationed with the U.S. Army in London, at St. John the Baptist Church, Heigham, Great Britain. Upon completion of his tour of duty in March 1946 Dorothy and Tom moved to Cranford where they purchased a home. Several years later they moved to Howell Township. Dorothy became a United States citizen in September, 1954 and worked for 3M Company, Freehold Township for 36 years until the company relocated out of state. Upon her husband’s death in 1977 Dorothy continued to live in Howell Township where she was a devoted member of St. Veronica’s R.C. Church until 2002 when she moved into an assisted living facility. Visitation will be at St. Veronica’s Church on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to St. Veronica’s Church, 4215 Highway 9 North, Howell, NJ 07731 Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
