Obituary of Robert J. Bruder
Robert J. Bruder, 63, of Manahawkin died August 31, 2015 at University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. He was born in Elizabeth and had resided in Colonia.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was employed at UPS, Mahwah for 21 years before his retirement in 2009. Prior to that, he was employed in the computer operations department of PSE&G.
Mr. Bruder was a Cubmaster for Pack No. 523 of St. John Vianney Church, Colonia, a baseball coach for Little Fellows League of Colonia, and a basketball coach at St. John Vianney Church. He also enjoyed golf and fishing. While at UPS he was a volunteer for the United Way in Bergen County.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Garofolo Bruder; a son, Robert and his wife Marisa; a daughter, Jennifer Perciballi and husband John; his twin brother, Richard Bruder and wife Cindy; two sisters, Judith Frank and husband Craig and Valerie Kristof and husband John; four grandchildren, Vincent, Brooke, and Bella Rae Perciballi; and Carly Bruder; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and Marguerite Garofolo; a brother-in-law, Martin Garofolo, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Services will be held at Maplewood Chapel Mausoleum, 169 West Main Street, Freehold on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) or Little Fellows League of Colonia, Pennsylvania Ave., 07067 would be appreciated.
