Obituary of Barbara O'Donnell
Barbara O’Donnell, 72, of Freehold Township died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. O’Donnell was born in South River and had resided in Freehold Township since 1954. She was a receptionist for AT&T/Bell Labs, Freehold before her retirement 20 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, a member of the church choir, a member of Court St. Rose of Lima No. 737, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, all of Freehold; and the Telephone Pioneers of America. A son, Matthew O’Donnell, died in 1990. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Leo and Matthew Cannon. Surviving are her husband, William F. O’Donnell; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Thomas Clark, Rumson, Colleen and Michael Gagliano, Toms River, and Kathleen and George Bente, Upper Saddle River; two brothers, Brian Cannon, South River and James Cannon, South Amboy; two sisters, Margaret Hall, Millstone and Mary Jane Kohlhepp, South River; and four grandchildren, Jennifer Bajor, Megan Gagliano, and Alec and Tera Shissias. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Muscular Dystrophy Association, PO Box 78960, Phoenix, AZ 85062-8960 would be appreciated.
