Obituary of Mary Edelman Arueste
Mary Arueste, 93 of Freehold, died Monday, May 28, 2007 at Care One at Jackson. Born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Benjamin and Sara Lasensky Edelman, she grew up in Sioux City, Iowa and later moved back to New York, then to the Covered Bridge Community in Manalapan Township prior to moving to Freehold. Mrs. Arueste worked as an executive with a variety of companies on Wall Street, doing commodities business with South America. She eventually became an executive for Bartons Candy, New York; and later served as registrar for the music school of the Westchester YMHA. She was a fund raiser for the Deborah Hospital Auxiliary; and was a member and historian of the Arts Council of Covered Bridge, as well as doing other volunteer work in the community. She was predeceased by her husband Louis Arueste; a brother, Samuel Edelman; and a sister, Ida Stark. Surviving is a son, Michael B. Arueste, San Jose, California; a niece, Joan Edelman Spero, New York, New York; four nephews, Richard and Robert Edelman, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, James Edelman, Memphis, Tennessee, and Peter A. Stark, Freehold. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Workmen’s Circle Cemetery, Freehold. Donations in her memory to Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O.
