Obituary of Dorothy K Nimick
Dorothy K. Nimick, 79, of The Villages, Howell Township died Wednesday, May 30 at Jersey Shore Rehab Center, Eatontown. Mrs. Nimick was born in Freehold and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was the court clerk for the Borough of Freehold for 17 years before her retirement in 1990. Mrs. Nimick was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold. Her parents Jeanette and Chester Kirby, two brothers Edward O. Kirby and Arthur Kirby, two sisters, Jeanetta K. Treat and Sarah Huber, predeceased her. She was the beloved wife of George for 58 years and loving mother of her two sons, George E. Nimick and fiancée Peggy of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Craig J. Nimick and wife Antoinette, Freehold, and daughter, Kimberley A. Cook and husband Thomas, also of Freehold She was a devoted grandmother to six grandchildren, Casey Caltabiano and husband Stephen, Craig J. Nimick Jr., Thomas L Cook Jr., Ryan M. Cook, Adam C. Nimick and Todd M. Cook; and two great-grandchildren, William and Sophia along with numerous nieces and nephews. She found happiness and took great pride in participating in every aspect of her grandchildren’s lives. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
