Obituary of Theresa S. Kling

Theresa S. Kling, 39, of Freehold Township died with dignity Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune Township. She was born in Freehold and had resided in Naples, Florida from 1990 to 1999 before returning to Freehold. Terri was a graduate of Freehold Township High School. She earned a 4-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from East Stroudsburg University. Upon graduation, she interned at the Marriott Hotel and Gulf Resort on Marco Island, Florida where she then began a 10-year career. Terri returned to New Jersey in 1999 to begin a teaching career. She earned her professional certification from Kean University, and began working at the Kennedy Park Elementary School, Woodbridge where she has been a beloved third grade teacher for the past four years. Terri was a proud member of the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA), and served as her school's union representative. This year she was among honorees by the State of New Jersey Department of Education, having been awarded a Certificate of Recognition through the 2007 Governor's Teacher Recognition Program. This honor was to have been celebrated with Kennedy Park's Board of Education, as well as faculty later this month. Terri was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church and a teacher in the parish's CCD program. She was a devoted mother of two children, and was very active in all of their activities, including soccer, Little League, and karate. Surviving are a son and daughter, Zachary and Brittany Kling; her parents, Edward and Carole Rogerwick, Freehold; four sisters, Christina LaPatin, Pittsfield, MA, Pamela Reynaud, Millville, Michelle Kimker and her husband Erich, Rockaway, and Stephanie Rogerwick, Philadelphia, PA; eight nieces and nephews; and her best friend and life partner, Michael Crowell, Freehold, and Michael's sons, Evan and Sean. Visiting hours will be at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m and 7:00 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy wil be held at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Terri's final resting place will be at the St. Rose of Lima R.C. Cemetery. A fund for the children has been established, and donations (in lieu of flowers) may be made to the Theresa Kling Trust Fund in care of Idus American Bank, 1536 Oak Tree Road, Iselin NJ 08830.
