Obituary of William V. Grinevetsky

William V. Grinevetsky, Jr., 81, of Freehold died Thursday, June 14, 2007 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1925 and lived in Manhattan until he moved to Freehold in 1931. He was in the poultry business with his father until 1953 and then became a mason and was a member of Bricklayers & Allied Craftsworkers, Local No. 5, Bordentown until he retired in 1987. He was awarded a Crafts Award in 1987. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol during World War II and was proud to pilot a B-29 bomber for a brief moment. He was a member of the Freehold Elks Lodge No. 1454 where he served as a trustee. He was awarded a commendation in 1987 and 1993, and was Elk of the Year in 1993-1994. He was a member of the Reformed Church of Freehold where he served as an elder and deacon. He enjoyed working on cars and was a “jack of all trades.” He enjoyed painting and his greatest joy was his family. He loved all his children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Otille and William, and by his first born grandson, Christopher in 1979. Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty; four children, Sue Grinevetsky Lithgow and her companion Charles, Patty McCullough and her husband Tom, Billy Grinevetsky and his companion Sue, and Beth Schupsky and her husband Tom; his nine wonderful grandchildren, Sara and her husband Scot, Katie, Emily, Jennifer and her husband Dave, Kristine and fiancé Sean, Bobby, Matty, David, and Dana; and four step great grandchildren Daniel, Matthew, Timothy, and Anthony; two sisters, Helen Simmonds and brother-in-law Fred, and Vlasta Loxton; a sister-in-law, Jane Ostermiller; a brother-in-law, Jack Ostermiller; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Reformed Church of Freehold, 67 West Main Street, Freehold on Monday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 1454 services will be held on Sunday at 8:00 p.m.
