Obituary of John S. Cipo
John S. Cipo, 85, of Millstone Township died Friday, June 29, 2007 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Cipo was born in Pennsylvania and had resided in Morgan for 25 before moving to Millstone Township 27 years ago. Mr. Cipo was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving a Technical Sergeant and was a tugboat captain in the European Theater of Operations. He was in the electrical inspection business for over 30 years serving as both the New Jersey State manager with the Middle Department Inspection Agency, Somerville and also as the electrical sub-code official for East Windsor Township. During his career he was a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors. Mr. Cipo was a communicant of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Millstone Township; a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1352, Hopelawn; a graduate of Woodbridge High School, Class of 1941; and had played semi-professional football for the Golden Bears, Newark. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Kavchak Cipo; a son and daughter-in-law, John L. and Judy Cipo, Clarksburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jim Kopp, Rumson; a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Irene Cipo, Pottstown, Pennsylvania; a granddaughter, Allison Kopp, Rumson; and a niece, Cynthia Cipo Gallagher, Pottstown, Pennsylvania. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 91 Stillhouse Road, Perrineville on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
