Obituary of Frank Durand
Frank Durand, Jr. 83, of Freehold Township died Sunday, July 1, 2007 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Sea Girt and had resided in Freehold, Las Vegas, Nevada, Colts Neck, Toms River, and Lakewood before returning to Freehold. He and his wife were the owners and operators of the White Sands Motel, Las Vegas. Prior to that he was the proprietor of Durand’s Men’s Shop, Freehold. Mr. Durand was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of Admiral Farragut Academy, Beachwood and attended Duke University. He was a Past President of the Freehold Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International; and a former member of the Good Will Hook and Ladder Company of the Freehold Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Courtney Durand. Graveside services were held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent under the direction of the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.
