Obituary of Peter Conomos

Peter “Bunk” Conomos, 71 of Manalapan Township, died Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. Born in New York City, New York, he lived in Matawan prior to moving to Manalapan Township over 40 years ago. Mr. Conomos owned and operated Country Construction, Manalapan Township, for over 40 years. He was an avid fan of old hot rods and muscle cars. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Greiner, in 2002. Surviving are his son, Travis Peter Conomos, Charleston, South Carolina; two brothers, George Conomos, Juneau, Alaska, and Christopher Conomos, Morganville; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, 58 Main Street, Englishtown. Burial will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. Donations in his memory to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America (hdsa.org) would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
