Obituary of Georgiana Tedone Angiulli

Georgiana Tedone Angiulli, 87, of Howell Township passed on July 16, 2007 at home. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 10, 1920 to Italian immigrants, Joseph and Antoinette Tedone. She excelled in school and worked at the family Italian delicatessen and cared for her siblings. She overcame many hardships, however through incredible tenacity and a big heart; she graduated from Fordham University with top honors in foreign language in 1943. There she met her soon to be husband Frank. They lived in Clifton for 35 years where they raised their children Marie and Frank Jr. She taught in the Paterson School System as a foreign language teacher and reading specialist for 30 years. She received her Masters Degree at Montclair State College. She was known as a woman of grace, elegance and style. Her intellect was matched by her nurturing heart. She cared for her family all her life. Her passions were Italian cooking and writing. She wrote many children’s books and adult novels including her last work “The Erosion of Ego” which chronicles her entire life. She is survived by her loving husband Frank, daughter Maria and son Frank Jr. Also surviving are her sisters Mary Branda, Ida Schaefer, and Grace Tedone. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Veronica’s R. C. Church, Route 9, Howell on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 300 Second Avenue, CW6, Long Branch, NJ 07740. We appreciate their tender care of Georgiana and continued care of her husband Frank.
