Obituary of Patsy P. Caprioni
Patsy P. Caprioni, 83, of Freehold died Saturday, July 21, 2007 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Caprioni was born in Red Bank and had resided in Freehold since 1945. He was a U.S. Marine Corps, 3rd Division, 21st Regiment veteran of World War II and participated in the assault and capture of Guam, Marianas Island from July 21 to 26, 1944. He was wounded on July 26, 1944 and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. Mr. Caprioni was a sheet metal engineer at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital, Marlboro Township where he was employed from 1948 until his retirement in 1986. He was also an accomplished musician and member of Local No. 399, American Federation of Musicians. He and his band, the Pat Capri Orchestra, performed along the Jersey shore. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold and a life member of the Philip A. Reynolds Marine Detachment of the Marine Corps League. His wife, Mildred Mulholland Caprioni, died in 2005. He was also predeceased by a sister, Mary. Surviving are four sons, Barry Caprioni and his wife Barbara, Wellington, Florida, Bruce and Craig Caprioni, both of Freehold, and Patrick Caprioni and his wife Clemenza, Wayne; a brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Rena Caprioni, Matawan; a sister-in-law, Irene McCormick, Freehold; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Janine, Ryan, Brett, Jared, Lindsay, Cole, Nicholas, Mia, Marco, and Brandon; and four great grandchildren, Christian, Madison, Joseph, and Gianna. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Marine Corps League services will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
