Obituary of James A. Merola
James A. Merola, 66 of Hamilton, formerly of Freehold died Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at St. Francis Hospice, Trenton. Born in Long Branch, he lived in Freehold prior to moving to Hamilton ten years ago. Mr. Merola was a self employed carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Merola was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold. He was a member of Freehold Council No. 1672, Knights of Columbus, and Msgr. Kivelitz General Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Freehold. He was predeceased by his wife, Judith Shane Merola in 1991. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, James A. Merola, Jr. and Shelley Merola; Hopewell; two daughters, Ann Merola and Alane Barnick, both of Hamilton; his mother, Elizabeth Spitzner Merola, Hope Mills, North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael J. Merola, Jr. and Diane Merola, Freehold; a brother-in-law, Bob McClure, Spring Valley, New York; and a grandson, Zachary Merola. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday, 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
