Obituary of Harry H. Shebek
Harry H. Shebek, 91, of Freehold Township died peacefully on Friday, August 17, 2007 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township after a brief illness. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 20, 1915 he resided in Freehold Township for the past five years. Prior to moving to Freehold Township Harry resided in Hamilton Township, Mercer County for over 50 years. Harry served in World War II in the U.S. Navy in the rank of first class petty officer. He served aboard the USS Independence, USS Roosevelt, and the USS Midway. He was retired from the U.S. Post Office, Trenton after more than 30 years of service. Preceding him in death were his parents Agnes Shebek Polcyn and Joseph Shebek, two brothers and two sisters. Harry is survived by his wife of 62 years Elizabeth Seiger Shebek; their children, Kathleen and her husband Mark Pisauro, Newtown, Pennsylvania, Geraldine and her husband Michael Phillips, Freehold, and R.B. Shebek. He was a loving grandfather to Michael, J. Bradford, Christopher and his wife, Elizabeth, Lauren, and Meghan. He is also survived by a sister, Beverly Kozitko, Cleveland, Ohio and a brother-in-law, John Donald Seiger and his wife Margaret, Lawrenceville; and nieces and nephews in Ohio. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
