Obituary of Rosemarie Mathilda Serafin Ternhune

Rosemarie Mathilda Serafin Terhune, 56, of Manalapan Township died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Mrs. Terhune, known as “Rosey” to her close friends, was born in Passaic and was a lifelong resident of Manalapan Township. Her parents are Mathilda Serafin, Manalapan Township and the late Robert Serafin, Perth Amboy. Mrs. Terhune attended the Manalapan Englishtown Regional School System and graduated from Freehold High School in 1968. Mrs. Terhune was a bus driver for the Freehold Regional School System for 25 years and was loved by all her students. Rosemarie was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, Englishtown. She loved spending time with her family, playing with her grandson Nicholas, gardening, and socializing. She will be remembered for her upbeat personality, her love of people, and her kind words to all. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard “Ricky” Serafin, who died in 1975. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 34 years William Terhune; a daughter, Dawn LaRoza, her husband Steve, and grandson Nicholas LaRoza, all of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Johanna LaChapelle, West Linn, Oregon, Karen Acostar and her husband Chris, Huntington, Maryland, and Mary Robb and her husband, Paul, Oakhurst; a brother, Robert Serafin and his wife Leslie, Manalapan Township; her nieces and nephews, Glenn Byler, his wife Debra, and their children, London, Sydney and Brooklyn, Regina Byler and her son Jensen, Troy Montero and his wife Emily, Katie and Matthew Fullerton, Richard and Cassandra Serafin, and Lisa and James Mount; a sister-in-law, Florence Mount and her husband James, East Brunswick; and a brother-in-law Michael Terhune and his wife, Amy, Tampa,. Florida. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, 58 Main Street, Englishtown on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
