Obituary of Lorraine Nolan Cook

Lorraine Nolan Cook, 71, of Yardley, Pennsylvania died on Saturday, September 1, 2007, at Saint Mary’s Medical Center, Langhorne, Pennsylvania with her loving family at her side. A resident of Freehold Township until 2000, Lorraine was a committed educator retiring from the Marlboro Township School District after teaching for 31 years. There she also served her fellow educators in a variety of elected positions within the Marlboro Township Education Association. Additionally, she was a proud and active member of the National Education Association and the New Jersey Educational Association. Lorraine earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Georgian Court College, Lakewood and her Master’s Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University. After retirement, she enjoyed extensive travel and spending time with her husband, grown children, and especially her grandchildren. Lorraine is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years Donald N. Cook; son, Rear Admiral (select) Kevin Cook, U.S. Coast Guard and daughter-in-law, Kristen Cook, of Seattle, WA; daughter, Bridget and son-in-law, Gerard O’Malley, Newtown, Pennsylvania; and six adoring grandchildren, Erin, Peter, Megan, Jayne, Holly, and Kelly. She was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold for more than 40 years, more recently a member of St. Andrew’s Parish, Newtown, and a member of Court St. Rose of Lima, No. 737, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Freehold.A viewing will be held at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday, September 3, 2007 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends also may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, McLean and Randolph Streets, Freehold on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold.
