Obituary of Casilda Gonzalez
Casilda Gonzalez, 93, of Freehold died Friday, September 7, 2007 at home. Mrs. Gonzalez was born in Forcadela, Spain and moved to the United States in 1934. Mrs. Gonzalez and her husband operated the Country Inn, Freehold Township from 1948 to 1949 and the Freehold Deli, East Main Street, Freehold. They were both employed at the Horsemen’s Kitchen at Freehold Raceway, and Granada Inn, Asbury Park. Casilda Drive and Ramon Boulevard in Freehold Township were named after Mrs. Gonzalez and her husband. Her husband, Ramon Gonzalez, died in 1995. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Ramon, Jr. and Mary Gonzalez, Freehold; four grandchildren, Ramon Gonzalez, III, Texas, Ronald and Stephen Gonzalez, both of Freehold, and Marysue Vang and her husband Robert, Jackson Township; and a great granddaughter, Karina Vang The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by entombment at St. Rose of Lima Mausoleum, Freehold.
