Obituary of Joseph J. Herman

Joseph J. Herman, 76 of Howell Township died Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at home. Born in New York City, New York he lived in Freehold for most of his life. Mr. Herman was a math and science teacher for the Freehold Township Schools. He was a member of the German-American Club, Howell Township, and the East Freehold Fire Company. He was a troop leader for Troop No. 158, Boy Scouts of America, Freehold. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1672, Freehold. He was a communicant of St. Veronica’s Church, Howell Township; and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Surviving are two sons, Joseph Herman and Justin Herman, three daughters, Jessica Herman, Cheryl A. Herman, and Lisa A. Herman; and a grandson, Joseph Dylan Herman. Relatives and friends may call at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Maplewood Chapel Mausoleum, Freehold.
