Obituary of C. Richard Flock

C. Richard Flock, 84, of Colts Neck Township died Sunday, September 16, 2007 surrounded by his family at home. Mr. Flock was born in Long Branch and was a lifelong resident of Colts Neck Township. Mr. Flock was a dairy and potato farmer for more than 50 years before his retirement in 1985. Along with his father and brother they operated Maple Lawn Farm in Colts Neck Township farming 400 acres. Mr. Flock was honored by the Monmouth County Board of Agriculture. He was a lifelong member of the Colts Neck Reformed Church where he served on the consistory; a charter member of the Colts Neck Lions Club; a volunteer for Open Door of Freehold; and a member of the Woodland Hunting Club. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Smith Flock; their children, Lana C. Binaco, Sue A. Boyd and her husband Victor U. Boyd, and Dr. Lori E. LaRue and her husband, Stephen D. LaRue; a brother, William R. Flock and his wife, Marjorie F. Flock; and grandchildren, Michael R. Binaco and his wife, Marissa S., Josef U. and Ryan C. Boyd, and Carolyn V. and Ava R. LaRue. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Colts Neck Reformed Church, Route 537, Colts Neck on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott D. Brown officiating. The interment will follow at Atlantic Cemetery, Colts Neck Township.
