Obituary of John Estrada
John Estrada, Jr., 64 of Howell Township died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at home. Born in Salinas, Puerto Rico, he lived in Howell Township and Oakdale, Minnesota prior to returning to Howell Township ten months ago. Mr. Estrada was a supervisor for 3-M Company, Freehold and St. Paul, Minnesota for 32 years, retiring five years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks No. 1454, Freehold. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed crabbing, but his greatest joy in life was his wife, children and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Sandra L. Emmons Estrada; a son, John W. Estrada, Bloomington, Minnesota; three daughters, Cindy Gentile and her husband Joe, Avon, Heather Estrada, Howell Township, and Annette Lopez and her husband Jose, Neptune Township; his mother, Maria Santos Estrada, Salinas, Puerto Rico; three brothers, Eddie Estrada, Piscataway, Daniel Estrada, North Charleston, South Carolina, and Nelson Estrada, Lathrop, California; six sisters, Santa Montijo, West New York, Abigail Serrano, Edison, Lucy Diaz and Evelyn DeFilippo, both of Salinas, Puerto Rico, Ruth Somera, Manteca, California, and Nancy Estrada, Turlock, California; and five grandchildren, Kayla, Meghan, Sean, and Catherine Gentile, and LillyAna Lopez. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
