Obituary of Harold Vorhees Ryno

Harold Vorhees Ryno, 94, of Freehold Township died Friday, October 12, 2007 at Applewood Estates Health Care Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Ryno was born in New Brunswick and had resided in Edison Township until 1980 when he moved to Lavallette. He had been a resident of Applewood Estates since 1999. Mr. Ryno served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Patoka during World War II. He and his wife were married on June 29, 1940 at St. James Episcopal Church, Edison Township. Mr. Ryno was a stereotyper for Home News, New Brunswick for 43 years before his retirement in 1976. He was a former member of Faith Lutheran Church, Lavallette and a member of Local No. 8 Graphic Communications International Union, Lavallette, Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 52, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3117, both of Edison Township, American Legion Post No. 351, and St. James Episcopal Church, Edison Township for 25 years where he served as a member of the church’s vestry. Surviving are his wife, Helen Ryno; a daughter, Joan R. Bauer, Manasquan; a son, H. Bruce Ryno, Belle Mead; five grandchildren, Christopher Bauer and his wife, Susan, Doylestown, Penn., Brian Bauer and his wife Suzanne, Egg Harbor Township, Stacy and Amy Ryno, both of Belle Mead, and Matthew Ryno, East Brunswick; and four great grandchildren, Griffin, Peyton, Jackson, and Molly. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 11:00 to 12:30 P.M. Services will be held at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. followed by priovate interment at Hillside Cemetery, Plainfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Vitas Hospice Care, 1 Meridian Road, Suite 5, Eatontown, NJ 07724 would be appreciated.
