Obituary of Nellie Stovall
Nellie “Aunt Sue” Stovall, 92, of Freehold died Saturday, October 20, 2007 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Stovall was born in Richmond, Virginia and had resided in Red Bank before moving to Freehold in 1938. Mrs. Stovall was a domestic worker before her retirement. Prior to that, she was employed at Marlboro State Hospital, Marlboro Township. She was a longtime member of the New Beginnings Agape Christian Center, formerly the Second Baptist Church, Freehold where she was a member of the Usher Board for over 25 years. Her husband, Alfonza Stovall, died in 1979. A daughter, Lillie Mae Cooper, died in 1970. Surviving are an adopted daughter, Ella Stroud, Spring Lake; four grandchildren, Kenneth Ronald Stroud, Jr., Lakewood, Kimberly L. Stroud, Freehold and Daliah and Gregory Stroud, both of Spring Lake; an uncle, Lester Robinson, Virginia Beach, Virginia; three nephews, Calvin and Eddie Todd and Ben Beachum; and a niece Virginia Beachum. The viewing will be held at the New Beginnings Agape Christian Center, 133 Throckmorton Street, Freehold on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the church at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
