Obituary of Sam McLamore
Sam McLamore, Jr., 65, of Colts Neck Township died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel Township. Son of Sam Nathaniel McLamore and Ruth Washington McLamore, he was born on May 12, 1942 in Wegfield, S.C. At the age of 16 he found his lifelong love of racehorses. He was a horse trainer his whole life and in later years worked as a head tractor operator for A. Casola Farms, Holmdel Township. Sam met and married Shirley Smith in 1968. He was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; his devoted companion, Doreen Dailey; three sons, Vernon, Samuel, and Joseph; three daughters, Margaret, Theresa, and Danielle; a sister, Mary J. McKither; a brother-in-law, Leusester; five grandchildren, Ava, Michael, Richard, Taylor, Haywood, a son-in-law, James Clark, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The interment will be held in Howard Chapel Cemetery, Timmonsville, South Carolina.
