Obituary of Maggie Belle Stringer

Maggie Belle Stringer, 99, of Plainfield died November 1, 2007 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Plainfield. Mrs. Stringer was born in Hardaway, Alabama and had resided in Englishtown for over 20 years before moving to Freehold where she lived for many years. She had moved to Plainfield several years ago. Mrs. Stringer was a charge attendant at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital, Marlboro for 26 years before her retirement in 1973. Prior to that she was a defense worker. Mrs. Stringer was a member of the former Second Baptist Church, Freehold which she joined in 1942. She was a member of the flower club and a kitchen aide of the church. She was a former member of the Damascus Baptist Church, Hardaway where she was secretary of the church Sunday school and member of the church choir. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Stringer who died in 2000; and two sons, Melvin Stringer who died in 1939 and Clinton Stringer who died in 1957. Surviving are two granddaughters, Jessie Mae Tucker, Freehold and Marlene Denise Andrews, Plainfield; five great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; a great great great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the New Beginnings Agape Christian Center, Throckmorton Street, Freehold on Friday at 11:00 a.m. The viewing will be held at the church one hour prior to services. The interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
