Obituary of Ruth J. Hammerstone

Ruth J. Hammerstone, 80, of Lakewood died Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Laurelton Village, Brick Township. Mrs. Hammerstone was born in Camden and had resided in Farmingdale before moving to Lakewood 15 years ago. Mrs. Hammerstone was an Avon Lady in Monmouth and Ocean counties for many years. She was the widow of Robert C. Hammerstone who died in 1982. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Robin Clayton, who died in 2005. Surviving are two sons, Robert C. Hammerstone, Jr., Seneca, South Carolina and Michael P. Hammerstone and his wife, Denise, Cream Ridge; a brother, Al Southard, Florida; seven grandchildren, Michael Z. Hammerstone, Heather Rossi, Michael Dice, Keith Dice, Stanley Dice, Shanna Clayton, and Jessica Clayton; and five great grandchildren. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held during the evening hours at 8:30 p.m.
