Obituary of Florence S. Alpern
Florence S. “Faye” Alpern, 86 of West Brandywine, Pennsylvania, formerly of Freehold, died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Inn at Freedom Village, West Brandywine, Pennsylvania. Born in New Brunswick, she lived in Freehold prior to moving to West Brandywine five years ago. Mrs. Alpern was the owner and operator of Faye’s Uniforms, Freehold. She was a member of the Congregation Agudath Achim, Freehold, and a founding member and volunteer for the Freehold Area Hospital Foundation, now CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Her husband, Jacob Alpern, died in 1978. He was a Pharmacist and owner of Jay’s Pharmacy, Freehold. Surviving are three sons, Michael Alpern and his wife Carol, Long Beach, New York, Philip “Flip” Alpern and his companion, June Whitesides, Willetts, California, and David Alpern and his wife Ellen, Exton, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren; and three step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Hebrew Benefit Society Cemetery, Freehold. Donations in her memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 246 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, NJ 07755 would be appreciated.
