Obituary of Lizzie M. Lester

Lizzie M. Lester, 80, of Freehold died Monday, December 31, 2007 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune Township. Mrs. Lester was born in Swainsboro, Georgia and had resided in Freehold for 40 years. Mrs. Lester was a member of the Bethel A.M.E. Church, Freehold where she served as an usher and as a member of the kitchen committee. Surviving are three sons, Carl Lester, Victor Ballard, and Kenneth Lester, all of Jackson Township; five daughters, Mary Ann and Katie Lester, both of Freehold, Bessie Abou El Asaad, Edgewater Park, Evelyn Lester, Neptune, and Jeanette Perry, Lancaster, California; a brother, Fred Jackson, Trenton; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, 3 Waterworks Road, Freehold on Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
