Obituary of Otis Woods

Otis Woods, 56, of Freehold died Sunday, January 13, 2008 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Mr. Woods was born in Tuskegee, Alabama and had resided in Freehold for the past 44 years. He was a nitrate operator for Hercules Company, Parlin before his retirement. Prior to that he was employed at Nestle, Freehold. After his retirement he was employed at Wal-Mart, Freehold. He was a member of the Walter J. Conley Lodge No. 1379, I.B.P.O.E. of W., Freehold and was a former coach in Freehold Little League and Freehold basketball program. Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Blacknall Woods; a son, Keith Woods; a daughter, Kimberly Renee Woods; his mother, Annie B. Woods; two grandchildren, Sydney Alexandria Woods and Lloyd Anthony Gomes, Jr.; a stepsister, Cynthia Cohen and a stepbrother, Steven Woods, both of Chicago, Illinois; and many other family members and friends. The viewing will be held at the New Hope Baptist Church, Center and First Streets, Freehold on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the church at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
