Obituary of Lucia Kluchinik
Lucia Kluchinik, 86, of Manalapan Township passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 23, 2008. Lucy spent most of her childhood in Lithuania and immigrated to the United States in 1947. Being proud of her heritage, she continued to be involved in many Lithuanian organizations and activities while living in Elizabeth. She also taught briefly at St. Peter and Paul’s School in Elizabeth. Lucy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. Her many hobbies included gardening, traveling, and enjoying music and nature. In particular she enjoyed spending summer vacations at the Franciscan Monastery in Kennebunkport, Maine. Lucy will be greatly missed by her devoted husband of 59 years, Gilbert; her children, John Kluchinik, Elizabeth, Daiva Amantea, Manalapan Township, Lucy Furmanec, Millstone Township, and Ruth Parsons, Brooklyn, N.Y.; and four loving grandchildren, George, Stephanie, Alex, and Zachary. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Thomas More R.C. Church, 186 Gordons Corner Road, Manalapan Township on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by interment at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.
