Obituary of William Denise Hulse
William Denise Hulse, II, 68, of Freehold Township died Thursday, February 1, 2008 at Concord Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lakewood. He was born in Long Branch and was a lifelong resident of Freehold. He was a graduate of Freehold Regional High School, Class of 1957. He was an ex-captain, past president and 40 year member of the Good Will Hook and Ladder Fire Company of the Freehold Fire Department. He served as Chief of the Freehold Fire Department from 1982 to 1984. He was a member of the Freehold Fire Department Ex-Chiefs Association and the Freehold Fire Department Exempt Firemen’s Association, and a former member of the Freehold First Aid Squad. Mr. Hulse was a senior police dispatcher for the Freehold Township Police Department. He was also a dispatcher for the Freehold Police Department and the Freehold Fire Department and a heavy equipment operator for the Borough of Freehold Street Department. He was predeceased by his parents, A. Harry and Harriet Hafeman Hulse. Surviving are his wife, Lydia Elff Hulse; two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Kathleen Hulse, Englishtown and William and Anna Hulse, Plano, Texas; a grandson William R. Hulse; two sisters, Susan Sweetman and her husband James, Freehold and Carol Benton, Brick Township; his stepmother, Louise Hulse; a stepbrother, John Ten Hoeve; two stepsisters, Debra Marcum and Elaine Newton; nieces and nephews, James and Michael Sweetman, Mary d’Hedouville, Lynn Cannon, Catherine Sweetman, Thomas and Andrew Benton, Jeanne and Jason Elff, Kim Newby, Cheryl Giles, Eric Narzynski, John Ten Hoeve, Lisa Trebbiani, and Josh and Jake Levy. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Freehold at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 33 Throckmorton Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.
