Obituary of Mildred Honce Foy

Mildred Honce Foy, 97, of Freehold Township, died Monday, Feb. 11, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Wendel, W.Va., and had lived in Freehold Township for nearly 70 years. Mrs. Foy graduated from Victory High School, Clarksburg, W.Va, and attended Bowling Green Business University, Bowling Green, Ky. She worked for many years in the office of Monmouth County Commissioner of Registrations, retiring in 1980 as deputy commissioner. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. Her husband, Vincent G. Foy, died in 1967. She was also predeceased by her parents, Vaclav and Maria Rabik Honce; five sisters, Mary Pastis and Helen Spedden, both Dundalk, Md.; Ann McNamara, Freehold; Julia Neutzling, Lawrence Township, N.J.; and Margaret Kane, Silver Spring, Md.; and a brother, Joseph Honce, Bridgeport, W.Va. Surviving are her children, Peter Foy and his wife, Julie, Freehold Township; Frederick Foy and his wife, Gilda Karu, Arlington Heights, Ill.; Mary E. Foy, Lutherville, Md.; and Mrs. Margaret Marcuson and her husband, Dr. William Marcuson, Vicksburg, Miss.; a brother, James Honce Sr., Bridgeport, W.Va.; and three grandsons, Michael Foy and his wife, Stacy, Somerset, N.J.; Eric Marcuson and his wife, Lauren, Wynnewood, Pa., and Stephen Foy and his partner, Melissa Stamnis, Austin, Tex. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. Burial will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
