Obituary of Marie E. Holmes
Marie E. Holmes, 89, of Marlboro Township died Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the Montgomery Care Center, Freehold Township. Mrs. Holmes as born in Staten Island, N.Y. and had resided in Marlboro Township since 1924. She was a hairdresser for Angela’s Beauty Salon, My Fair Lady, and Adam and Eve, all of Freehold. Mrs. Holmes was a member of the Old Brick Reformed Church, Marlboro Township where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Fellowship Club. She was a member of the CentraState Medical Center Auxiliary, a former Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader, and member of the Marlboro School Parent Teacher Association. She was predeceased by a brother, William Miles and a sister, Ruth Noll. Surviving are her husband, Harry “Dewey” Holmes; a son, Dewey Holmes, Howell Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and William Hogan, Marlboro Township; and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Old Brick Reformed Church, 490 County Road 520 East, Marlboro Township on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at the church cemetery.
