Obituary of Joseph Michael Tabacsko
Joseph Michael Tabacsko, 78, of Freehold Township died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in South Amboy and had resided in Freehold all his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving from 1945 to 1949. He was an aircraft inspector for the Lakehurst Naval Air Station before his retirement in 1983. Mr. Tabacsko was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold; an officer in the First Catholic Slovak Union, Perth Amboy, and a member of American Legion Post No. 54, Freehold and the Silvermead Community Club, Freehold Township. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael John and Dorothy Harvan Tabacsko; and a sister, Mary Grasberger. Surviving are his wife of 56 years and his best friend, Jacqueline Daley Tabacsko; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Meg Tabacsko, Nashua, N.H.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Kevin Montegary, and Suellen and Tony Arecchi, all of Jackson Township; a sister, Anne Coyne, Freehold; and six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katie, and Nicole Montegary, John Tabacsko and his wife Beth, David Tabacsko, and A.J. Arecchi. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Freehold on Monday at noon followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold. Memorial donations to the Freehold First Aid and Emergency Squad, Spring Street, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated. American Legion services will be held on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.
