Obituary of Donna E. Dougherty
Donna E. Dougherty, 51, of Freehold passed away peacefully February 16, 2008 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born October 30, 1956 in Morristown. Donna lived in Colts Neck before moving to Freehold in 1974. She worked as server at Burlew’s Cliffwood Inn in Cliffwood Beach, and as a technician at Precision Filaments in Freehold. Donna was a wonderful, caring, and loving mother, daughter, and sister. Donna was predeceased by her mother; Mildred Dougherty, in December, 2007. Donna is survived by her daughter Christine, Freehold, two brothers; Michael, Eddington, ME, and Daniel and his wife Peggy, Sebastian, FL, and her sister; Debi McCarthy and her husband Bob, Howell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Donna loved spending time with her daughter, Christine, and enjoyed trips to the beach with her, especially to Sandy Hook. She also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoons. Donna’s love for life and generous spirit will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Thursday, February 21, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for a Trust Fund to be established for Christine’s college education. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
