Obituary of Lisa Borden Applegate

Lisa Borden Applegate, 38, of East Brunswick Township died Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township surrounded by family and friends. Lisa had resided in Manalapan Township and Freehold Township prior to moving to East Brunswick. Lisa was a very special person greeting you with a smile and cheerful attitude, was a true friend and a fighter right to the end. She is going to be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a graduate of Manalapan High School, Brookdale Community College, Lincroft and Georgian Court University, Lakewood. She was a Sunday school teacher at the Reformed Church in Freehold for a number of years. Lisa is survived by Warren Shaklee, her life’s partner and best friend; her parents, Connie & Ron Applegate, Las Vegas, Nevada; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Beth Applegate, her nephews, Christopher and Robert Applegate all of Howell Township, her grandmother, Elizabeth Applegate, Freehold Township, the Shaklee family who embraced her as their own, many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends, including Waldo, her Seeing Eye dog. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 8:30 pm. with Rev. Christopher L. Vande Bunte officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Seeing Eye, PO Box 375, Morristown, NJ 07963 or Jerseyville United Methodist Church, Howell in Lisa’s name.
