Obituary of Phyllis Gail Cohen
Phyllis Gail Cohen, 72, of Monroe Township, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Robert Wood John University Medical Center, New Brunswick. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she lived in Edison prior to moving to Monroe Township 23 years ago.
Mrs. Cohen was a school teacher for the Elizabeth Board of Education for 25 years, retiring over 10 years ago.
Surviving are her husband, Martin Cohen; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Debbie Cohen, Flanders, a daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Jeff Wells, Flanders; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Ruth Slater, Boynton Beach, Florida; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Marvin Gang, Boulder, Colorado; and five grandchildren, Michael and Joshua Cohen, and Robin, Jennifer, and Sarah Wells.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Beth Israel Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Donations in her memory to Temple Hatikvah, P.O. Box 672, Flanders, NJ 07836 or the Eleventh Hour Rescue, P.O. Box 218, Rockaway, NJ 07866 would be appreciated. Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold is in charge of arrangements.
