Obituary of Virginia A. Grove

Virginia A. Grove, 76, of The Villages, Howell Township died Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Bartley Healthcare Center, Jackson Township. Mrs. Grove was born in the Collingswood section of Wall Township and had resided in the Freehold area all her life. She was a graduate of Freehold High School, Class of 1950. She was a recreational therapist at the John L. Montgomery Medical Home, Freehold Township before her retirement. Prior to that, she was a teacher’s aide at the Park Avenue School, Freehold. Mrs. Grove was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Freehold and a member of Presbyterian Women Circle No. 4 of the church; a volunteer at the CentraState Medical Center Thrift Shop; and a former treasurer of the Freehold Little League and Freehold Babe Ruth League. She was the widow of Anthony Grove who died in 2000. She was also predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Hawthorne and her grandson, Evan Grove. Surviving are three sons, Anthony Dennis Grove, Easton, Penn., Richard Francis Grove and his wife, Karen Lynn, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, and Michael Ennis Grove and his wife Mary Cathy, Potsdam, N.Y.; two daughters, Mary Beth Grove, Seaside Heights, and Laura Lynn Rothenhofer and her husband Fred, Erial; a brother, Thomas Nelson Estelle, Jackson Township; eight grandchildren, Sara, Daniel, and Kevin Grove, Mackenzie Grove, Heather Jordon, Dana Alfano, Erin Giordano, and Eric Rothenhofer; and a great granddaughter, Aryanna Jordon. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Forest Green Park Cemetery, Marlboro Township.
