Obituary of John F. Van Wyck

John F. Van Wyck, 92, of Millstone Township passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015 at Wedgwood Gardens Care Center, Freehold Township. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he lived there prior to moving to Millstone Township 49 years ago. Mr. Van Wyck was a bank clerk for Irving Trust Company, New York City, New York for 40 years, retiring in 1988. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Van Wyck was a member of the B.P.O.E. Post No. 2613, Millstone Township, and a past district deputy of the Elks. He was a committeeman and Mayor in 1977 of Millstone Township. He also was a member of the Lions Club and V.F.W. Post No. 4374, Freehold. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose M. Van Wyck in 2014. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Randy Blake, Howell Township, and Michele and Don Lasko, Jackson Township; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
