Obituary of Annie Lee Fitzpatrick

Annie Lee Fitzpatrick, of Millstone Township was born September 20, 1920 to the late Dallas Anderson and Annie Mae Raybon Anderson in Thompson Station, Alabama, and departed this life April 24, 2008 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township following a brief illness. She attended Cotton Valley High School. Annie married Needham Fitzpatrick. In 1952, they moved to Englishtown where they resided until their deaths. Annie was a faithful and lasting member of Old Ship of Zion Baptist Church of Englishtown. Annie was employed as a dietician at Marlboro State Psychiatric Hospital, from which she retired after more than 30 years of service. Annie had a great love for her family. She enjoyed gardening, and had one of the best vegetable gardens in Monmouth County. She also enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting, and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Needham Fitzpatrick, and daughter Frances (Bea) Delores Fitzpatrick. Annie is survived with loving memories by her children: Major (and Victoria) Anderson of New York, Needham (and Cleo) Fitzpatrick, Jr., New Jersey, Leon Fitzpatrick, New Jersey, Arthur (and Valerie) Fitzpatrick, New Jersey, Evelyn Jefferson (and husband Mikel) of Texas, and Patricia Fitzpatrick of New Jersey. She is also survived by her sisters Lela Mack and Willola Torrance of New York; sisters-in-law Mildred Anderson, Virginia Anderson, Rita Smith, and Carrie Bell Bush, all of New York; and Inaz Huffman of Georgia; brothers-in-law Sam Fitzpatrick of New Jersey, Edgar Ellington of Georgia, and Joe Ellington of Florid; aunts Viletta Vanahoose and Arbell Fitzpatrick both of New York; sixteen grand-children; thirty-six great-grand children; and one great-great-grand child. She also leaves a host of loving family and friends. The family will miss her loving ways. She was the epitome of hospitality, opening her heart, home, and garden to everyone. Viewings will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold and on Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a home going service at 11:00 AM both to be held at the Old Ship of Zion Baptist Church, Englishtown.
