Obituary of Alfred W. Schlechtweg

Alfred W. Schlechtweg, Jr., 44, of Asbury Park died Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Jersey Shore University Hospital, Neptune Township. He was born in Neptune Township and had resided in Manalapan Township before moving to Asbury Park two years ago. He was a self-employed house cleaner. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Freehold. He was a graduate of Freehold Township High School, Class of 1982. His father, Alfred W. Schlechtweg, Sr. died in 2002. Surviving are his mother, Marie Borden Schlechtweg; a brother and sister-in-law, Karl and Nancy Schlechtweg; and a sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Fred McDonald, all of Jackson Township; a nephew, Cole and a niece, Emily. Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Cindy Bowman officiating. The interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
