Obituary of Adam H. Anton
Adam H. Anton, 75, of Manalapan Township died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Mr. Anton was born in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, N.Y. and had resided in Mountainside before moving to Manalapan Township 37 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Anton was a graduate of Allentown High School, Allentown and Rider University, Lawrenceville. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
He was treasurer of the Independent Insurance Agents of America, New York City for 20 years and was later treasurer of the American Heart Association, Edison. He also was the owner and operator of Superior Lawns, Manalapan Township.
His wife, Lorraine E. Anton, died in 1976. He was also predeceased by his parents, Adam Anthony and Anna Swierczewska Antonowicz, and a brother George Antonowicz, all of Ewing Township.
Surviving are three sons, John Anton and Mark Anton and his wife Linda, all of Houston, Texas, and Robert Anton and his wife, Ann, Freehold Township; two daughters, Sharen Farrar, Beachwood and Karen Kraft and her husband, Bill, Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren, Lorraine, Paul, Jr., Taylor, Mark, Jr., Paige, Victoria, John Matthew, and Cole; and two great grandchildren, Anthony and Daniel.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. Memorial donations to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
