Obituary of Edward G. Trilby
Edward G. Trilby, 74, of Freehold Township died Sunday, June 1, 2008 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in New York City and had resided in Union City before moving to Freehold Township 42 years ago.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Trilby was an ironworker for Anchor Wire Works, Union City before his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church; a life member of Freehold Council 1672, Knights of Columbus; and a member of American Legion Post No. 54; all of Freehold.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy A. Trilby, in 1965.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Malloy Trilby; two sons, Robert E. Trilby, Freehold and Edward F. Trilby, Jackson Township; three daughters, Karen A. Trilby, Marietta, Georgia, Kerri A. Ganley, Freehold, and Kelly A. Doherty, Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; a sister, Marietta Lang, East Brunswick; four grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Bassett, Marietta, Georgia, Kara Ganley, Freehold, and Jack Doherty, Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; two half brothers, Raymond Gordon, Pineville, Missouri and Larry Gordon, California; and a half sister, Wilhelmina Mercadant, Lindenhurst, N.Y.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery. In lieu Memorial donations to a favorite charity would be appreciated.
