Obituary of Anna Applegate Jasko Vamos

Anna Applegate Jasko Vamos, 92, of Danville, Virginia died Monday, June 9, 2008 at Danville Regional Medical Center, Danville, Virginia. She was born in Freehold and had resided here before moving to Virginia 20 years ago. She was a nurse at the former Perth Amboy General Hospital and the former Freehold Area Hospital, Freehold Township before her retirement. Mrs. Vamos was a member of Tabernacle, Danville, Virginia. Her first husband, Edward L. Jasko, Sr., died in 1956. Her second husband, Andrew Vamos, died in 1989. She was also predeceased by her parents, John V. and Elizabeth Dey Applegate. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward L., Jr. and Vickie Jasko, Freehold and John A. and Jean Jasko, Danville, Virginia; four grandchildren, John Jasko, Jr. and his wife, Anna, and Annemarie Jasko, all of Danville, Virginia, and Lee Ann Schwerthoffer and her husband, Rich, and Frances O’Brien and her husband, Kevin, all of Freehold; and nine great grandchildren, Megan, Dylan, Erica, Katie, Shawn, Alison, T.J., Kelsey, and Adam. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent.
