Obituary of Eric Allen Tiedemann
Eric Allen Tiedemann, Sr., 56, of Freehold died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at home. He was born in Long Branch and had resided in Neptune Township before moving to Freehold 33 years ago.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1970 to 1974.
He was a maintenance utility mechanic for Nestle Company, Freehold where he was employed for 31 years. At Nestle he was an organizer of the blood drive to benefit the Central Jersey Blood Bank and was a leader of the first aid and first responder team.
He was a graduate of Neptune High School, Class of 1969 and was member of the school’s varsity wrestling and soccer teams.
He was a member of Cpl. Philip A. Reynolds Detachment, Marine Corps League where he was active in the Toys for Tots Drive; a coach and umpire-in-chief for the Freehold Little League, a coach for the Freehold Recreation Soccer League; a Boy Scout Weeblo leader; a former member of the Freehold First Aid and Emergency Squad; and was an avid golfer.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Lisa Gibson Tiedemann; a son, Eric A. Tiedemann, Jr., Freehold; four daughters, Erika Mead and her husband Scott, Clarksville, Tenn., Tracy Ann Moriarty, Freehold, Kelly E. Tiedemann de Hernandez and her husband, Juan Carlos Hernandez, Southbridge, Mass., and Nicole De Biasio, Neptune City; three brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Sharon Tiedemann and Bob and Nancy Tiedemann, all of Wall Township, and Fridrik and Miriam Tiedemann, Beaufort, S.C.; a sister and brother-in-law, Kristen and Rich Abt, Bangor, Pennsylvania; and four grandchildren, Scottieann Mead, Devin Conner Moriatry, Theanna E. Hernandez-Tiedemann, and Eric A. Tiedemann, III.
Visiting will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home 20 Center Street, Freehold on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. followed by memorial services at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations care of the family would be appreciated.
