Obituary of Elizabeth Crawford Van Mater

Ellizabeth Crawford Van Mater, 87, of Freehold died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Freehold, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Van Mater was a pharmacist for Wood’s Drugstore, Freehold for over forty years. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers College of Pharmacy, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her parents, William N. and Violet Hankins Crawford; her first husband, Hubert F. Power; and her second husband, Pierre D. Van Mater, Jr. Surviving are a daughter, Hope Ann Power Kerr, with whom she lived; two stepsons, Peter and David Van Mater; two stepdaughters, Margaret Goembel and Gretchen Stone; as well as their respective spouses; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Old Brick Reformed Church, Marlboro Township at a date and time to be determined. Donations in her memory to the Monmouth County S.P.C.A., 260 Wall Street, P.O.
